THROUGH MY BEST FRIEND'S EYES 

 

Maybe its the big round eyes perfectly accessoriesed by her long  sexy lashes ,

Or  that she finally sees my nakedness !

After she fought to see what was beyond my walls.

That she sees me for who I am.

 

Like a brand

That's why she never let's anyone undeserving give me a nickname 

And taught me to master the art of loving my name

It makes me respond to it with confidence like when one is called up to deliver a speech they prepared for compared to being  called in the high school list of shame .

 

Like a lady who underappreciates herself;

I don't quite know what I am made of at times,

I remember the basics in my biography 

But forget the basic essence of what I am worth 

And down play  my value and judgements 

It makes me vulnerable to the court of public opinion more than often .

That's Help me God be honest to it,

But then she asks

'At what cost?'

But she makes me see me as strong lady with the temerity to say censored words.

like I gat diamonds at the meeting of my bones ,

She makes me dance to the rhythm of life.

 

Like an over populated city

That needs de _ cluttering in pursuit of happiness and a calmer life.

Who wouldn't love the breeze of the country side ?

With the tree  branches swinging left to right whispering to mother nature 

And the birds singing love songs to each other all day long? 

She made me realize I have poor spiritual hygiene! 

For lots of people have access to me!

Putting them before me is basically putting God last,

For I am Gods  living representation of perfection.

He deserves a better place. .

So , i will learn to put myelf first.

That when God fills my cup, 

The rest can have what runneth over from it. 

 

 

Like a phoenix 

In Maya Angelou words 

She reminds me that I still rise

Out of the huts of history's shame, 

Up the past that is rooted in pain,

In a black ocean ,leaping and wide

welling and swelling in bear tide

Leaving behind the nights of terror and fear 

Into a daybreak that is wondrously clear 

I will burn to emerge, and rise.

 

And through her eyes ,

I understood a statement that  made me speechless and was left hanging in my life,

And right now I embrace it with alot of love and assertion in my heart .

For like a phoenix ,I burn 

And from the deepest embers, 

I will rise and I will conquer !

Both in heart and mind,I believe in me !

I will run this life 

Paint it with my presence 

And perfume it with my essence.
