Why lock my out?
Why turn me down?
Why turn a deaf ear on me?

2hours past the witching hour,
I slowly trode for  home.
2 am the puzzle pieces fit,
At this hour, I disentangled myself;
emerging from the depths of the spiral  labyrinth,
2am , I broke off rusty chains of captivity,
2am, I walked out of the jaws of trouble.
Not entirely unscathed,
Daddy would you please listen!

Curfew rules I broke!
My report on home codes is null daddy,
I acknowledge!
My movements are stealth, I sneak,
Being corky my art,I'm a brat(have been)
Spinning stories I perfected.
Yet this once,
The puppeteer was the puppet.
Funny how tables turn!
Daddy would you please listen!

A handful I am,
To the edge I push you,
To the wall I pin you,
To the ground I root you,
I took you for a ride down town!
 My affairs to you became a dark abbys.
Yet this once, 
Light was hidden from me,
Daddy would you please listen!

I was betrayed!
Lied to!
Used!
Dragged!
Abused!
Drugged!
Cuffed!
Trapped
I'm heated,bruised and haggard by life,
Daddy would you please listen !

I know a cane is what I earn this night,
But love I yearn,
For they say,
Brain of an African child is in the buttocks!
Yet this once ,
I don't deserve that!
The world taught me!
That which I resisted learning from mummy.
I might have hot-blood!
Pull in the sweater
Magnet in my mouth,
Diamonds at the joining of my  thighs
Adrenaline at the centre of my brain
Adventure on the walls of my heart
But I am not stupid!
I have learnt the hard way
One last chance please.....
Daddy would you please listen!

  Today is my second day in America. But it is the first day I have walked on the streets. Which, by the way, is very different from my hometown. While my hometown has a million people walking in every direction, conversing and laughing, I was the only pedestrian in the street! I Quite Miss Home

  So, it's 12.07 am. If our world was still the same as 3 months ago, you would be dragging me to bed right about now. I would complain how much you are a sleepy head, and you'd remind me I would love the head ad get if we went to bed. I would get excited and run to bed. Only to realize I did not refill the water bottle in the morning, you'd go get some just because you know I can't sleep dehydrated. By the time you'd be back, I’d be all covered up and you'd tickle me and I would laugh, laugh so hard that the upstairs neighbor would give me funny looks in the morning.   Btw that one time I went to get the orange hair dye she asked me "huyo mtu wako mpole ni mfunny?" Sonder in California

  One thing I have learned in California is that a car is not a luxury item! It is a basic need! My first week here, I wanted to buy sodas; I walked for 46 minutes! 46 whole minutes! I saw the distance from Google Maps was 8 minutes; I assumed 8 minutes’ walk. Little did I know the 8 minutes was time for people driving. Do you know what those 8 minutes look like? It was like driving from Kitale town to Kiminini or Karen to Ngong! And I walked! At the end of the day, I was exhausted but proud of myself. I promised to buy a car as soon as possible.  But since I haven't bought a car yet and I need groceries, I guess I have to find alternatives, no? Wednesday 5.31pm The mall I am going to does not close until 11pm. So, I can actually leave for the mall in the evening.
