SERIKALI TAFADHALI SAIDIA

SERIKALI TAFADHALI SAIDIA

I am not inhuman

Neither am I a renegade

But my thoughts maybe inhuman

I seek not  defend  them

Though maybe they need my defense

As I may get stoned.

"Serikali nisaidie!"

That's a cliché in my mother land,

Choosing not to fix broken bridges

As the children swim across swollen river to quench academic thirst

All I can think of is disposal to Bilharzia or pneumonia.

Doesn't it scare you,my country people?

That they could be attacked by the  inhabitants of the water?

When the media reports ..

All the villagers say is 'Serikali tafadhali saidia'

How hard is to put planks of wood to use to cross over???

When harvest is  bumper,

Farmers feast with their families,

They sell part of it.

When their is food shortage in the country,

They yell out ' Serikali  tafadhali saidia'

Does the government grow crops?

Can't the farmers store ' emergency food' in the granary? ?

Can't they use the cash from the sold crop to buy better farm products to get better produce?

Terminal diseases can cause trauma and financial strain,

Blood is thicker than water they say,

And every dying flame has a spark

Just like every forest has a mad man

Why can't the madly rich people in the family help with the bills?

Why can't we let friends of friends help us?

Can't hospitals be considerate and give people some extra time to raise the funds?

What's the work of insurance firms?

Must we 'Serikali tafadhali saidia' to that too?

The bible says

We shouldn't worry about what we eat or drink

Sunday school teachers speak to  Children to trust God's Providence,

Why does the church at times lobby money from politicians for church projects?

That's a camouflaged version of 'Serikali tafadhali saidia!'

Can't the church raise funds from running it's own businesses ?

Can't believers just willingly give enough for the church projects??

The government should not play victim either!

Do they have to wait for media to expose chaos before working on it??

What was the whole essence of devolution?

If the system worked, people on the ground would be helped and won't be yapping 'Serikali tafadhali saidia'

This would leave the government focusing on the big 5 agenda!

That's the whole place the government should be 'Serikali tafadhali saidia'

Growth and development of kenya is a universal task

Just like it needs a man and a woman to make a baby,

It needs both citizens and government to grow and develop the economy.

If the government played it's cards well,

The citizens will play the game better.

The game of development will be worth it.

A win win for the economy

That's the mindeet, the battle we need fght and win

Good riddance 'Serikali tafadhali saidia '
